I had my first reiki session in 2019 as an attempt to release some anxiousness that I had no idea where it was coming from. My therapist recommended this holistic approach before jumping into western medicine. Lying on the table, letting the the practitioner do her work, I felt relaxed, calm, at peace. Even though my eyes were closed I could feel the energy radiating between us. At one point, I had memories of my Grandma rush through and tears started pouring from my eyes. It was the purge my body needed. It was energy that needed to be felt and moved. At the end of the session I felt lighter and more relaxed. It was a state of zen I've only every felt during meditations, and one I now try to incorporate daily. Afterwards, I shared with the practitioner my experiences throughout the session and she shared what she felt on her end. I left there with the advice to use my voice more either through speaking, writing, etc. Six months later I launched my podcast and eight months later had my first gig as a speaker.
Since then, I've had several reiki sessions. I find that I turn to reiki in the moments where I feel stuck in life for whatever reason. Every time, I've left feeling lighter and with more clarity. It's helped me gain insight about my anxiousness, see visions of my future, receive downloads from the universe and most of all been an outlet for my self care.
When I was invited to do a Reiki Certification class by a friend, I thought "Why would she send this to me?" I never really talked about to anyone, maybe here and there casually. However, recently I've started hosting women's circles and have been working to create a more healing, energetic community. Then it dawned on me. Duh! Reiki certification is the perfect next step in the direction I'm wanting to go in life. Immediately I registered! Now, here we are, Reiki Level 1 Certified with Level 2 Certification coming in Fall.

Everyone! We are all energy beings and we all collect energetic debris throughout our lifetime. Energy work can help you find balance physically, mentally and emotionally.

How long is a session?
Sessions last approximately 60 minutes.

What happens in a session?
During session you'll be asked to lay down on a massage table, fully clothed. I will use tools such as essential oils, sage, crystals, rose quartz pendulum, tuning forks and a weighted blindfold throughout the session. These practices are to perform a chakra balancing for you. Minimal touching of the body takes place and only with your consent.
What should I expect to feel during session?
You may feel heat, tingling or coolness. During session you may feel an urge to laugh, cry, giggle, move- it's all ok. This is energy moving- let it go. Most people drop into a meditative state or even nap during a session. Whatever happens is normal, there is no right or wrong way.
What should I expect to feel after a session?
After sessions, people typically feel lighter and relaxed. Perhaps like you're floating a bit. It's truly a blissful bubble to be in :) Be sure to drink plenty of water afterwards to keep the energy flowing. You will leave with a handout highlighting your chakras with ways to keep the energy flowing positively.

You are not required to bring anything with you except an open mind and heart. :)
